The ‘Silk Route’ or ‘Silk Roads’ – a series of ancient trade route spanning from China through Central Asia were paths for not only trading silk but other goods such as teas, spices, herbs, religion, spirituality, glass wares, precious stones, textiles, innovations and information that would shape technology and ways of life to the present day! Camels were the main mode of transport for silk caravan convoyages passing through Persia (modern day Iran), Afghanistan, Israel and onwards to Africa and Europe.
