The Offering

Dream It.

  • Turn your idea into a plan.
Have an idea for your community or group but not sure where to begin? HOOSH can help you map out a plan and/or progress an idea into an Action Plan. Have funding to create a project or program? HOOSH can also design simplified programs and project concept plans with your team or community so that outcomes are achievable and realistic and workloads are streamlined and efficient.

With experience across multiple industries from Fashion, Art, Cultural Tourism & Community Development in the Not For Profit, For Profit-For Purpose and Local & State Government sectors we can work with you to create solution based outcomes that meet funding needs and the needs of your community and cohorts.

Build It.

  • Sometimes a project or a program requires knowing what your existing strengths and assets are and where other aspects can be improved and progressed. HOOSH offers group workshops in World Café style for both participants and/or employers working on specific programs to discover where people’s gifts and talents are best applied to get the best results!

We can also work one-on-one with individuals whether community members or staff and management to develop strategies for working with particular cohorts and optimizing results in an ethical manner.

Make It.

  • Boost your brand or idea to the next level
HOOSH offers a Graphic Design service for small businesses or individuals needing to make an impact and grow their ideas and enterprises!

We work with you to create dynamic imagery for your brand and assist you to access the tools you need to be able to communicate with industry professionals and save your business time and money!
We also offer small ‘launch’ packages that include business card, postcard, banner and other promotional material design so you can get your business out there!

  • For the Entreprenuer In Us!
Sometimes we need to seek out an external person outside of our business or enterprise ventures to bounce ideas off in a safe space otherwise known as the ‘cone of silence’. Sometimes we just need to seek a mentor to hold us accountable to our own business progress so that we remain inspired and on track to where we want to go! Working as a sole trader, entrepreneur or micro-small enterprise team can often be isolating, even for the most driven of us!

With experience across multiple industries from Fashion, Art, Cultural Tourism & Community Development in the Not For Profit, For Profit-For Purpose and Local & State Government sectors HOOSH can offer mentoring & coaching for small groups and individuals plus accountability programs for those wanting to tailor their own progress.

Grow It.

Sell It.

  • Great ideas often need to seek funding support. Have a great idea, project and/or program but are feeling held back because of funding or capital?
Grants and funding applications are not as simple as filling out a form and crossing your fingers. A lot of time and energy goes into creating applications and even then there’s no guarantee that your project will receive the funding in this incredibly competitive market!

HOOSH can work with you to make sure you have what you need to be competitive in the game and to make sure that what you are applying for is going to be best for your venture. We can also help with grant writing, project and program co-design for specific funding and developing plans so that once you do receive your funding you aren’t left wondering ‘what’s next?’

Share It.

  • Let’s face it. Events can be stressful if you don’t know how to work with your stakeholders or they don’t understand what you are trying to achieve. There are many barriers that can affect communication between parties – language and cultural expectations being just some of those…

With experience in small to large scale events for Community groups, Councils and corporate and/or private organisations, HOOSH can help you get your event to where it needs to go!
We work with you to develop and execute a plan and can liase with your stakeholders to make sure everyone understands what needs to happen with as little stress as possible! We can help define your roles and responsibilities and take a diplomatic approach whilst taking into consideration your community needs and sensitivities.

‘Whether I’m designing projects, programming or helping community to reach their potential I work with compassion and deliver with purpose. i require a mutually shared space of clear communication, conscious intent and transparency. Check out some of the amazing organisations I have worked with to Design, manage & Co-Create Community Projects & Programs

  • A collaborative project between MOPOKE and the YALC town camp residents in Alice Springs producing soft sculptures created from blankets and silk dyed from native plants and rusty objects. MOPOKE was invited to create a wearable arts project to showcase at the annual Araluen Arts Centre Wearable Arts Awards – a first for an Indigenous entry. Also a first, the costume won both the ‘Natural Fibres Award’ and the ‘Peoples Choice Award’ – a reward in itself for mentoring youth at risk through fashion photo shoots and catwalk performance to build confidence.

  • Originally designed as a means to give end-stage renal patients a way to connect to their culture after having to permanently leave their remote desert communities for treatment in Alice Springs, the Social Enterprise in ‘bush balms’ (aka traditional bush medicine) was born. Native plants sustainably harvested from Arrente, Lutitja, Pintupi, Pintantantjara and Warlpiri country were used to create healing balms for many ailments. Under Christy’s management the social enterprise grew rapidly and went on to employ Indigenous youth studying Cert IV Business Management to work and study simultaneously in the enterprise, produce an organic skincare range sold nationally and internationally, provide balms for other Indigenous people in hospitals and facilitate demonstrations at significant events around the country. Harvesting workshops and preparation also took place on communities where trainees living in Alice Springs learnt from elders on remote communities. The enterprise grew further to include a cultural tourism, arts projects and community-workshops-in-sustainability arm, which generated money back into the enterprise.

Highlights included advocacy for Indigenous rights and wellbeing, an opportunity to work alongside Fair Trade Australia and New Zealand (FTAANZ) to advocate for a change in policy to allow for inclusion of the certification of wild harvest for some of the most marginalised people in our country.

The enterprise won The Australian Ethical Enterprise Award presented in Federation Square, Melbourne– the first Indigenous project to be recognised for social impact achievements. The umbrella organisation The Purple House is the recipient of multiple awards for service delivery.
